Over the past two weeks, learners started to examine the different pushes and pulls that brought people from all over the world to California in hopes of striking it rich. We examined the different sea routes and ports that people might have taken during the long voyage. In only 107 days, you too could sail from New York to the gold fields in California aboard a clipper ship! Pretty enticing, huh!
After considering the drives of many, the learners chose personas based on various starting ports around the world. They developed a story to go with their persona and named the ship they would be traveling on. Ask your learner to tell you more about their character.
They will become and develop this character over the next several weeks and keep a journal of their journey along the way. Wish them luck and wellness!
